Davis, Makenna CSWA

Makenna Davis joined NBMC in January of 2021, and is a Clinical Social Work Associate currently working towards her LCSW.  Born and raised in Coos County, Makenna graduated from Marshfield High School in 2005 and from the University of Oregon in 2011, with a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology.  After living in both Eugene and Portland, Makenna moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2017 to attend the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice, where she earned a Master of Social Work.  While in graduate school, Makenna interned and worked with the Maternity Care Coalition, a non-profit that provides home-visiting and early intervention services to new families during the perinatal period.

After earning a Master’s Degree in Social Work in 2019, Makenna worked in a hospital system outside Philadelphia before moving home to Coos Bay in late 2020.  She is passionate about increasing access to patient-centered, trauma-informed behavioral healthcare and is thrilled to serve her community as part of the NBMC team.  Her professional interests include the mind-body connection, nervous system regulation, trauma and trauma-healing, and behavioral health within perinatal populations.  In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, cooking, gardening, swimming, herbalism, and going to the beach.
