Kamara is nationally certified by the ANCC as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC). She was born in Washington but grew up in Oregon’s Willamette Valley before moving to Illinois in high school. Kamara earned first her Bachelor’s then Master’s degrees in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she graduated Cum Laude. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society and the Golden Key National Honor Society.
Kamara worked for NBMC for 5 years in Internal Medicine before moving to Hawaii for two years. In Hawaii, she worked in Family Medicine at a primary care clinic on Kauai, as well as an urgent care clinic on the North Shore, gaining experience in Integrative, Holistic, and Travel Medicine. She is a Certified Medical Examiner with the Federal Motor Safety Carrier Administration, performing physical exams for CDL licensure. She also provides travel vaccinations and counseling for people traveling abroad.
Kamara is married with two children and the family enjoys traveling when time allows.
