Dr. J. Alan Maddox joined the Family Medicine Department at NBMC in October, 2020. Dr. Maddox is a Board Certified, Family Medicine Physician with over 20 years of experience. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 1980 at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. He went on to receive his Medical Degree at East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine in 1994. In 1997, he completed the Family Medicine Residency Program at the University of Wyoming. Dr. Maddox practiced in the Spokane, Washington area for many years before making the decision to move to Coos Bay.
Dr. Maddox enjoys learning new things about medicine and applying his knowledge to help others. He encourages and welcomes patients to be involved in their treatment process as much as possible.
Dr. Maddox is married and has a grown daughter. He enjoys outdoor activities including – biking, hiking, fishing, kayaking and skiing. He also likes to listen to music, enjoys cooking, reading and gardening.
