Dr. Basnet joined the Pediatric Department at NBMC in September 2025. He began his education in Nepal with a Bachelor in Medicine and Bachelor in Surgery (MBBS) from Tribhuvan University. He went on to Medical School at National Medical College in Birgunj, Nepal; followed by Pediatric Residency at New York/Woodhull Hospital. Dr. Basnet is affiliated with the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. He is certified in BLS, PALS and NRP.

Dr. Basnet enjoys caring for children from birth to young adulthood. He fosters trust and open communication lines between for his patients and builds a trusted partnership for parents, providing expertise on developmental milestones, and preventative care.

Dr. Basnet is married and has one son. In his spare time, he enjoys taking road trips and watching movies.
