Dr. Rastogi was born in Trinidad and Tobago. She is the daughter of a veterinary geneticist and a livestock scientist. She enrolled in the Faculty of Medical Science at University of the West Indies at the Mt. Hope campus in Trinidad, from which she graduated with honors in Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology and Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Following a general internship, Dr. Rastogi matched into the State University of New York (SUNY Downstate) Pediatric Residency Program, where she completed her post-graduate training in pediatrics, followed by a year as Chief Resident. At graduation, she was awarded the Samuel L Fisher award for excellence in teaching.
In 2008, Dr. Rastogi moved across the country to Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) to begin a fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology, which she completed in 2011. While at OHSU, Dr. Rastogi completed a Certificate in Human Investigations and had the good fortune of presenting at several conferences. She currently resides in Coos Bay, where she is happily married with two children. Her husband, Dr. Raphael El Youssef is a surgeon here at NBMC and they are very excited to live on the coast. She spends her spare time cooking, taking her kids to the park and listening to classical music with her son.
